Designer cakes and pastries for every occasion. We make crazy, sculpted cakes for kids birthdays, special occasions, weddings, etc. Sweetness is also starting to make desserts for local restaurants. Currently we are on the dessert menu at Flour, located in Moreland Hills.

We strive to please all of our customers by catering to each customer. ALL of our cakes, cookies, etc. are custom made.

About the owner:

Jillian Sopko, pastry chef/owner of Sweetness, began working at Johnny’s Bar on Fulton when she was only 18 years old. As a senior in high school, Jillian assisted Pastry Chef Michelle Feher in preparing daily desserts and specials. Upon graduating high school, Jillian went to John Carroll University where she pursued an undergraduate degree in Business Management. She continued to assist Chef Feher part-time while at John Carroll. After completing her Business degree, Jillian moved to Chicago, IL where she attended the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago (CHIC) – Le Cordon Bleu. She obtained her Associates Applied Science in Culinary Arts Degree and her Associates of Baking and Patisserie. By October of 2005, Jillian had completed these degrees and was finishing her pastry externship at Vanille Patisserie in Chicago, IL. There, she was the cake extern and developed her love of making designer cakes. She credits her mentors, Sandra Spencer and Keli Fayard (co-owner of Vanille) for her success and interest in cakes.

Jillian worked at Michael Symon’s restaurant, Lola, in Cleveland as a pastry cook with Executive Pastry Chef Cory Barrett. After working at Lola for over a year, Jillian decided to focus her time and attention to Sweetness.

Jillian donated pastries and gift bags to The Knot-Cleveland’s annual party. She has also donated cakes to various charities including the American Red Cross.

Combined with her business education, pastry education, experience, and love for pastries, Jillian hopes that Sweetness will be a huge success!
