Bart Leonardi concentrates his practice in three areas: Estate Planning, Probate/Estate Administration and Business Formation. He began his legal career advising one of the largest regional banks in the South on trust and estate matters ranging from individual trust agreements to large, corporate retirement and pension plans. He counsels married couples, individuals, business owners and businesses regarding their estate planning, asset protection and wealth transfer needs, helping ensure their assets will be transferred as they desire and their estate tax burden minimized. His background in insurance and finance helps him to effectively work with the clients’ accountants, bankers, insurance and financial professionals.

In addition to estate planning, Bart has a significant probate practice. He represents estates and estate fiduciaries in probate courts in Cuyahoga, Lorain, Lake and Geauga counties and throughout the Greater Cleveland area. He also represents the interests of individual beneficiaries and heirs of the estate when they have concerns about the way an estate is being administered and if probate litigation becomes necessary.

Bart is a recognized litigator, having represented physicians, nurses, and other health care providers in courts throughout Ohio, Kentucky and Delaware. He has successfully obtained defense verdicts at trial, summary judgments and dismissals. In addition to malpractice actions, he has represented physicians in disciplinary hearings before the Board of Medical Licensure.

A native Clevelander, he obtained his B.S.B.A. in Finance from John Carroll University and his J.D. from Ave Maria School of Law. He is admitted to practice in all state courts in Ohio, Kentucky and in the United States District Courts for the Northern District of Ohio and the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky.
